Greg Maddux, a future first-ballot Hall of Famer, defined the art of pitching in an era when his craft was measured by the radar gun.
In his 23 year career, he racked up 355 wins, with a 3.16 era, 3371 strikeouts, 4 consecutive Cy Young Awards, a MLB record 18 Gold Glove Awards (13 consecutive), 8 All-Star appearances, a World Series Championship and in 2003 surpassed all-time great Cy Young as the only pitcher in Major League Baseball history to ever win at least 15 games for 16 consecutive seasons. In 2004, he extended that record to 17 consecutive seasons.
On August 7, 2004 in a game against the San Francisco Giants, Greg won his 300th career victory to become one of only 23 Major League Baseball pitchers to ever win 300 games in a career, a rarity in modern day baseball.
